Samsung Galaxy Ace gets a Hugo Boss edition, at least in France

In case you took a long look at Samsung’s midrange Galaxy Ace and decided that the only thing missing was a fashion brand tacked onto it… you’re in luck. Samsung has just announced the Galaxy Ace | Hugo Boss. As you may have gathered already, this is a ‘special edition’ Galaxy Ace. So what’s so special, or different here?

First of all there’s a big Hugo Boss logo above the display. Then there’s the back cover, which was redone by Hugo Boss designers. And there’s the shortcut to the Hugo Boss website added to the homescreen, so you’re never more than one tap away from the latest fashion news. You also get exclusive wallpapers and songs.

The Samsung Galaxy Ace | Hugo Boss launches running Android 2.3.3 Gingerbread, which is a nice step up from the vanilla Ace which was released running Android 2.2 Froyo. But there are no hardware differences between the two phones. The Hugo Boss edition still has the same 800 MHz processor, 5 MP camera, 3.5-inch touchscreen, same everything. It’s just made for those of you who simply can’t live without that Hugo Boss logo above your phone’s screen.

The phone is already available in France at The Phone House, where you can get it without a contract for €279.99, or with different monthly plans for an upfront cost of €1. It will also be available in Hugo Boss stores, of course. It’s unclear if this special edition smartphone will make it to any other country, but we’ll keep you posted, since we know you want to know.
